Objective:
To ensure that participants are aware of their role in acquiring goods and services through the use of their acquisition card.
At the end of the course, participants will:
- understand government and departmental acquisition card policies;
- understand the delegation of procurement authority;
- understand their financial responsibilities;
- understand the procedures for a competitive process for using the card;
- be aware of limitations of the use of the card;
- understand the risks and liabilities;
- use the acquisition card for payments;
- prepare the appropriate documents; and
- prepare the required procurement report.
Duration: 1 day
Target Population: All employees who now use or will use the acquisition card for low-dollar value procurement
Pre-requisites: None
Minimum/Maximum participants: 6/16
Hours: 8:30 to 4:30 p.m., 1 hour for lunch
Outline:
The intent of this one-day course is to provide participants with the information and understanding on the use of the acquisition card to make daily low-dollar value purchases of goods and services. Participants will use the acquisition card in accordance with the process required to acquire goods and services as per Treasury Board policies and departmental contracting and Acquisition Card policies and procedures
